London's Ultra Low Emission Zone One Year report is great news for Londoners’ health. The ULEZ has reduced air pollution significantly across ALL of London 💚 .

Calling for a London-wide ULEZ was our first major campaign in 2018, as we wanted all Londoners to benefit from cleaner air. It is so good to finally see the positive results of this policy!

Top lines: Nitrogen dioxide emissions are 24 per cent lower in outer London than they would have been without the ULEZ, and for those living near London’s busiest roads, there has been an estimated 80 per cent reduction in people exposed to illegal levels of air pollution.

These excellent results must serve as an example to national government and other city leaders of measures that can be taken that make a real difference to the air we breathe.

While we congratulate Mayor Sadiq Khan for prioritising children’s health, it cannot be the end of his ambition to reduce London's air pollution. We need further action to meet World Health Organization guideline limits, as well as a diesel and wood burning phase-out, and we will continue to campaign for these policies in London.
